Where slow childhoods and wild places meet.
Stories and invitations to slow down, notice everyday wonder, and make room for play, presence, and connection.
In a fast-paced world, Mountain Shore Books invites children and families to make room for wonder—to play, be present, and connect with one another and the world around them.
Through stories, imagery, and reflections inspired by wild places and the small wonders of everyday life, we hope to nurture curiosity and imagination while creating opportunities to pause, notice, explore, and be together.
Our hope is simple: to encourage children and the adults in their lives to play a little more, be a little more present, and deepen their connection with themselves, each other, and the world around them.

meet the creator
I'm Elizabeth, the creator behind Mountain Shore Books. As a counselor who has spent years working with children and families, I've seen the importance of imagination, play, and connection. Combined with my love of wild places, those experiences inspired me to create stories that celebrate wonder, unhurried childhood, and the everyday moments that invite us to look a little closer.
future books & projects
Mountain Shore Books is just beginning.
Alongside future picture books, I’m writing a nonfiction book that explores the heart behind this work—a reflection on slow childhoods, wild places, play, and the small wonders that shape us.
And there are other ideas taking shape, too—ways to carry these ideas beyond the page and into the everyday lives of children and families.
It is an invitation to rediscover the beauty of childhood lived with curiosity, presence, and wonder.
places of wonder
The stories of Mountain Shore Books begin in wild and wonderful places—quiet forests, peaceful shorelines, and landscapes that invite children and families to slow down, explore, and wonder together.
“Small moments. Big wonder.”

The places we know in childhood can become part of our inner landscape, carried with us long after we have left them behind.
